Day #1 –Depart WNY early this morning. We will make pay on own meal stops en route to Rhode Island. LaSalette Shrine Christmas Festival of the Light - Enjoy this holiday light display including over 400,000 lights. Visit the International Display of Nativities and stop in the gift shop. Dinner Included - At LaSalette.
Day #2 – Expanded Continental Breakfast - With hot choices.
Newport Tour, Guided - Enter the world of Vanderbilts, Astors and the wealthiest of gilded age tycoons as you travel Newport's fabulous Bellevue Avenue, peppered with stunning mansions and gardens. Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive featuring magnificent ocean views and historic Fort Adams. Hear about Newport's rich yachting history, major winners of the coveted America's Cup since 1930.
Marble House Mansion Tour - The ultimate in holiday decorations, see this lavish Newport mansions in its holiday finery. The sumptuous Vanderbilt-owned mansion was built with 500,000 cubic feet of American, Italian and African Marbles. Beautiful grounds with Chinese Tea House.
Bowen’s Wharf 49th Annual Tree Lighting - Celebrate the start of the holiday season on Newport harbor! Festivities include a Christmas Carol Sing - a Long, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and the lighting of the Bowen's Wharf Christmas tree. Take time to find that special Christmas gift at one of the 30 unique shops and take in the breathtaking views of Newport harbor. Time for dinner on own at one of the cozy eateries.
Holiday Evening at the Breakers w/Entertainment - Step back in time to Christmas at the beautiful Breakers Mansion. You will be dazzled by poinsettias, evergreen wreaths, fresh flowers and decorated Christmas trees. Stoll through the home's elegant rooms, be sure to stop by the dining room...the table is set with period silverware and china. Each window in the home is lit with white candles reflecting the colonial tradition. Enjoy live holiday music and light refreshments as you take in the ambiance of the Gilded Age holiday.
Day #3 – Expanded Continental Breakfast - With hot choices.
Nantucket Cruise with Traditional Cruise to Nantucket and High-Speed Cruise back to Hyannis - Meet your guide and cruise to the unique Atlantic Isle of Nantucket aboard the traditional boat. (The return cruise will be aboard the High-Speed Catamaran). Depart from scenic Hyannis Harbor. Nantucket is steeped in Whaling History (the setting for Moby Dick), stories of famous sea captains and rich maritime history. Your guide will offer a walking tour of the downtown area or you can take an island bus tour, rent a bike, visit a museum, shop, dine or visit the main street galleries.
Nantucket Christmas Stroll - Be entertained by the Magical Talking Tree at the top of Main while carolers in period costume, bell ringers, student choirs and more perform on Main Street. Holiday craft shows, exhibitions, performances and more! Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive via Coast Guard vessel and are escorted up Straight Wharf by the Town Crier to a waiting horse and carriage.
Cape Cod Christmas Ornament – Commemorate your trip with a Cape Cod-themed Christmas ornament to take home and hang on the tree.
